Description: The White Memorial Foundation is a great place for quiet family camping in the absolute center of the Litchfield Hills. It offers 2 different areas for family camping: Point Folly and Windmill Hill. Point Folly is 47 sites on a peninsula out on Bantam Lake, and is a perfect place to canoe or fish from. The Windmill Hill sites are closer to the main road, but quieter and away from the hikers and birders during the day. The White Memorial Foundation also offers lodging in its large carriage shed for 60 people, but it is only used by large groups who rent it out for conferences and group activity. The foundation also has a campground store and, of course, the nature museum and all the trails that people from around the state come here to enjoy. However, this is more like a state campground than a private one: a calm, pure camping experience.
