Description: Ice cream has been sold in this store in Mystic right across from the drawbridge’s giant counterweight since the 1800s. The current owners continue this tradition, making dense ice cream without the usual air content of store-bought and homemade ice creams. They are made one batch at a time, hand mixing it with fresh fruits, nuts, and candy. Flavors like Mystic Mud and Sticky Fractured Finger are delightful twists, and their traditional flavors, like Vermont Maple Nut, are worth a lick. They also have salads, sandwiches, and wraps, as well as fresh-baked pastries and gourmet coffees. The red velvet cake and Dirty Hippie drink (Chai latte with espresso) are keepers. But, of course, this is a place for ice cream, and if you’re seeing the attractions in Mystic Country, it’s the place to take your sweetheart or your kids for a cone.
