Description: Shore Line East is operated by the Connecticut Department of Transportation, with service between New Haven and Old Saybrook 7 days a week. Service from New Haven to New London operates Mon through Fri. A few Shore Line East connections are available to Bridgeport and Stamford. The stations along the Shore Line East route are varied and inviting. There are 9 in all, located in New Haven (Union and State Street stations), Branford, Guilford, Madison, Clinton, Westbrook, Old Saybrook, and New London. All are wheelchair accessible (at Westbrook there’s a lift), and free parking is available everywhere except New Haven and New London. Ticket windows are located at the New Haven Union Station, Old Saybrook, and New London stations. Otherwise, tickets are sold on the train and exact fare is helpful, as credit cards are not accepted on board. If connecting to the New Haven Line, separate tickets are needed, although UniRail tickets are available and combine Shore Line East and New Haven Line travel. These are available for one-way or weekly purchase. Also available are UniTicket rail tickets, which combine the two lines with local bus service on stops on the New Haven Line.
