Description: The young owners of Liv’s, John and Krissie Brescio, are very particular when it comes to using fresh ingredients, and their passion and sincerity has turned this fairly new restaurant into an immediate success. As far as their specialty, you can get the oyster sampler and try them in different sauces and preparations, get them fried the Connecticut way, or get them clean and fresh and slurp them down. The fluke, the char, and the scallops are all excellent, and they’ll give you extra bread if you want to soak up the amazing broths. Of course, they have other options, like pork with polenta and Angus hamburgers. For dessert, the ice-cream sampler with chocolate thyme, eggnog, and gingersnap flavors is delightful. Go for happy hour from 4 to 6 p.m. Mon through Fri and get one-third off the price of the appetizers.
