Description: Azul is consistently named one of Miami’s best restaurants thanks to Chef Clay Conley’s masterful blend of Mediterranean, Asian, and Latin flavors. The miso-marinated hamachi Tiradito has garnered a ton of press as has the Moroccan-inspired Colorado lamb. Despite all the accolades, the menu remains grounded and even shows a sense of humor with playful dishes like A Study in Tuna, which is an appetizer of raw tuna, crabmeat, tempura avocado, caviar, and assorted Asian sauces and a clever, upscale version of the diner classic steak ‘n’ eggs with beef tartare, crispy egg yolk, and Fontina cheese toast. The chocolate cinnamon Spanish beignets with cinnamon ice cream are a comforting way to end the meal. As if the food wasn’t enough reason to come, the restaurant (located inside the Mandarin Oriental hotel) offers stunning views of the Biscayne Bay and Miami skyline and has a wine list with over 700 bottles available. Service is highly attentive with waiters who will happily fetch pashminas for chilly diners.
