Description: Styled after the great New York City steakhouses of the 1940s and ’50s, Jeff Ruby’s Steakhouse has a distinct energy and feel that make it stand out from the rest. One of the most popular restaurants in downtown Louisville—it’s at the corner of Fourth and Main at the Galt House—Jeff Ruby’s is known for its eye-poppingly extravagant interior and impeccable service. The dark, rich interior is designed to be as visually exciting as the food, and the menu features dry-aged USDA prime beef, as well as seafood favorites and a sushi bar. Jeff Ruby’s is one of three regional chain restaurants; the other two are in the Cincinnati area. Open for dinner at 5 p.m. every day except Sunday, Jeff Ruby’s made national headlines during the weekend of Derby 2007 when the Cincinnati restaurateur himself refused service to O. J. Simpson and asked him to leave the restaurant.
