Description: The first thing you’ll likely notice at this white-clapboard B&B is the big old porch. Every New England inn should have one, and this one is a beauty. The inn doesn’t have a water view, but it’s within an easy stroll of all the shops and restaurants of Perkins Cove, and it’s far enough away to be quiet. So the veranda makes for good sitting, maybe with a glass of wine and some cheese and crackers, both of which the innkeepers sell in a little shop on the first floor. The six rooms and four suites are comfortable if not exceptional, and they’re clean and outfitted with quilts. All of the units have a private bath, air-conditioning, refrigerator, and Wi-Fi, in addition to the ubiquitous cable TV. Perfect as a launching pad for Perkins Cove explorations, the inn also has its own sailboat and offers charters to guests, a nice surprise.
