Description: The best things in life are free for people age 62 and older at the University of Nevada, Reno (UNR): They don’t have to pay tuition for regular university courses. If you’ve put off getting that first degree (or even second or third) because you didn’t have the money for it, the university makes it easy for you by charging only for books and lab fees. Let your fingers do the walking through the catalog and pick from a large variety of degree and nondegree programs. (Check out the Education and Child Care chapter for more specific information.) UNR also offers free and minimal-fee classes through its Osher Lifelong Learning Institute (OLLI) . Targeted to older lifelong learners, OLLI provides interactive educational opportunities, with members planning and conducting classes as well as simply taking them. The annual $45 membership in OLLI also entitles you to university library privileges and a discount at the Lombardi Recreation facilities. For information call (775) 784-8053 or visit their Web site.
