Description: This rodeo is billed as “The Wildest, Richest Rodeo in the West,” and it’s not hard to see why. The nine-day event has more than $41 million in prize money waiting for the top cowboys and cowgirls. The event usually kicks off on a Friday in mid-June with a party and a concert featuring a big name in country and western music. From Saturday through the next Sunday, cowboys and cowgirls compete for the prize money by team roping, barrel racing, bareback riding, bull riding, steer wrestling, saddle bronc riding, and calf roping. The event culminates at 1:00 p.m. Sunday with the championship rodeo performance. Other attractions at the rodeo include a carnival, cowboy country shops and a Western exhibit hall, and a behind-the-scenes chute tour. General admission ticket prices range from $10 to $18 depending on performance, day, and seating.
