Description: This 127-acre park, located in Central Nassau, is also open year-round. It is considered one of the county’s premier active parks. In addition to its massive swimming pool complex, this park is known for its indoor ice-skating rink, which has hosted a variety of Olympic skaters over the years. Cantiague Park is located in Hicksville on Cantiague Rock Rd., just off the Southern State Pkwy. To reach it by car, take the Southern State Pkwy. to exit 29 north (the Hicksville Rd. exit) and proceed less than 5 miles into Hicksville. Turn left onto West John St., and you’ll find the entrance to Cantiague Park on your right. The park can also be reached via the Long Island Expwy. Use Google Maps or MapQuest to determine the best route from your starting location.Cantiague Park opened in 1961. There is a small fee to participate in some of the activities and use some of the facilities. Some of the park’s activities include:
