Remarks: DURING L/R OUR JET ENCOUTNERED AN EXTRAORDINARY NUMBER OF BIRDS. THE BIRDS MATERIALIZED FROM THE GRASSES ADJ TO THE RWY BUT PRIMARILY FROM THE RWY ITSELF. ONE BIRDSTRIKE WAS OBSERVED. POSTFLT INSPN REVEALED AT LEAST TWO MORE STRIKES INCLUDING ONE ON THE L/E OF THE PORTSIDE WING. PILOT NOTES THAT HE HAS BEEN FLYING SINCE 1985 AND HAD NEVER OBSERVED SUCH NUMBERS OF BIRDS CONTINUOUSLY MATERIALIZING FROM THE RWY AND TURNING TOWARDS THE JET. BIRDS REPTD AS LARGER THAN A SPARROW.
