During WWII Independece Army Air Field utilized BT-13 trainers. Typicially, each training air base was assigned a large letter code painted on the side of the aircraft such as a "X","C", etc. and was about 3 feet in height. Can you tell me what letter was assigned to Indepencence AAF?

I am doing a project to document each letter code for all WWII era training bases. It has never been documented !! If you have any wartime photos of the flight ramp the letter painted on the side of the aircraft is most is most evident.

Thanking you in advance,

My father worked in the summer at the airport in 1944 for a Tuxhorn Flying Service. I can't find any info on this business. Your help would be greatly appreciated. I also have his work coveralls from this business; Tuxhorn with a wing emboridered in gold in the middle with a (t)in red in the middle of the wing Flying Service, Tuxhorn Flying Service in red. I hope I didn't confuse you ?
