I remember living at the end of the runway in a single wide mobile home with my parents and two younger brothers in the early 1960s. My dad would go and light smudge potts so pilots comming in late could see where to land. He took me up in a piper cub and stearman. He was a fireman in the airforce. I used to fish off the pier next to the hanger. I think I can find some pictures for you to look at.
