Central Pacific Passenger Depot


Central Pacific Passenger Depot is open on Wednesdays and Thursdays at 10am, 11am, 1pm, 2pm and 3pm. The facility gives tours for as many as forty-five people including the chaperone in the group. Allow forty-five minutes for tours. The facility requires one adult for every ten students. The facility is handicap accessible.

The Depot can be found at J and Front Streets in Old Sacramento, California. There is a parking lot located under I-5 that is entered from I street by going under the freeway. There are parking charges for the lot. Those with receipts for their tickets can use them at the Railroad Museum to get a discount the same day they visit the Central Pacific Passenger Depot.

Groups that just drop in may have to wait for admittance depending on the available space and visitation levels. Kindergarten through the 12th grade can tour the facility. Regular admission price may be charged for additional adults. Groups that arrive for tours over ten minutes past their scheduled time of arrival could have the tour cancelled by the park staff. The facility takes cash and checks only; costs are to be paid when arriving at the facility.
