Curtis Park

Curtis Park, located at 3349 W. Curtis Drive, Sacramento, is an 18.5-acre park featuring: a baseball and softball field; basketball, volleyball and tennis courts; a playground, a walking trail and several large open spaces. The park is a short walk east from the much larger nearby William Land Park which features several city attractions such as: the Sacramento Zoo, a golf course, Fairytale Town and Funderland.

Curtis Park is within the older Curtis Park neighborhood near downtown Sacramento. In the 1970's Curtis Park residents came together to save the old Sierra School from demolition, creating the Sierra 2 Center for the Arts and Community, located at 2791 24th Street, Sacramento, CA.

This non-profit center for artistic, cultural and educational activities provides a vibrant hub of activities and events for the neighborhood. Its 24th Street Theatre and several meeting rooms are available for public rental on a daily or monthly basis.

Some of the several annual events hosted by Sierra 2 Center include: the Curtis Park Wine Tasting & Silent Auction, Music in the Park, a Spring Egg Hunt, a neighborhood yard sale, and the Curtis Park Home and Garden Tour which features historic homes and bungalows of various architectural styles such as Tudor and Streamline moderne.
