Mountain High North (formerly Ski Sunrise)

Recent rumors that the Wrightwood ski resort known as Ski Sunrise had closed and disappeared were greatly exaggerated. In 2010, it was purchased by Mountain High Resort and has now reemerged as Mountain High North. Its three lifts one chair and two surface versions are again operational, and the slopes are available for skiing and snowboarding. Other activities that can be enjoyed here are snowshoe hiking, cross country skiing, and playing in the snow.

The base elevation at Mountain High North is 6,700 feet, while the peak reaches a height of 7,516 feet. The steepest run entails a vertical drop of 816 feet. The annual average snowfall in this area is 140 inches and snowmaking machines are used to add to the natural base. Taking the entire property into account, Mountain High North's total skiable terrain covers 100 acres, with 15% rated for beginners, 55% intermediate, and 30% advanced.

Mountain High North, formerly Ski Sunrise, is located at 1 Table Mountain Road, Wrightwood, California 92397. The ski season lasts from mid-December through mid-March, when the daily hours of operation are from 8:30am to 4pm. Lift tickets cost $46 per person. Additional skiing opportunities are available at the original Mountain High Resort, now referred to as Mountain High South.
