Thistle Dew Dessert Theatre

Thistle Dew Dessert Theater was founded by playwright Tom Kelly in Sacramento, California. The theater is located on the first floor of a Victorian home that was built in 1894. The home shares space with Mr. Kelly's wife, a practicing family attorney. The Thistle Dew is a small and intimate venue that holds 39 people and is the only theater in the city that provides dessert to its guests. The theater presents a variety of drama, plays, musicals, and comedy shows written and performed by local talent. The official location of the theater is 1901 P Street, Sacramento, CA 95811.

The theater is managed by Thomas Kelly and a group of fellow playwrights. Performances are Friday and Saturday nights at 7 pm and Sunday afternoons at 2 pm. Ticket prices generally range between $20 -$25 per show and include the choice of dessert, coffee or tea. The group has performed such acts as Going to Tibet, Mixville, Wake Up Jay, It's Christmas!, The Trials of Clarence Darrow, Monologue Mania III, and Last Resort Trailer Park. The Thistle Dew also has open auditions every Saturday morning and posts parts on its website. When auditioning people must bring a head shot and resume.
