Twenty Mule Team Canyon

Death Valley National Park is a large stretch of desert land in the Mojave running between California and Nevada's border. For visitors to this part of the state it is possible to explore Twenty Mule Team Canyon and the badlands. Taking Twenty Mule Team Road visitors can see Monte Blanco mining camp along with taking other dirt roads for an off road experience. There are 300 miles of road offering a challenge. Twenty Mule Team Canyon Road is unpaved for 2.7 miles. It is a one way driving trail through the actual canyon.

To get to the road and thus the canyon drivers need to take Highway 190 and go four miles to Furnace Creek, in the southern area. ATVs, 4x4s and other high profile or off road vehicles are needed to go into the canyon. The route can take visitors all the way back to the Black Mountain Range.

The name of the canyon and road is associated with William Tell Coleman's borax route, though it was not originally part of the Twenty Mule Team Borax Freight Route. The 165 mile trail actually avoided the canyon. The canyon is known for its flash floods and mudslides, thus it will be unstable.
