Swenson ran a licensed adoption agency in Houston for several years, according to the feds. At the agency, she would often promise two couples that they could adopt the same child, a process known as double-matching.

After both sets of prospective parents paid her, Swenson would then lie about why one of the couples could not adopt the child, concocting stories such as birth mothers backing out or saying the adoptive family had not paid enough.
This case definitely calls into to question how would a hopeful adoptive couple know if the situation their adoption agency is presenting them is real or not? It also calls into question about when is paying for adoption services legal or is it buying a baby. Failed adoption rate for licensed adoption agencies is 50%. Is that a failed adoption or double-matching? How do you tell?

I hope they all get stiff sentences so they never do this again. Someone posted another I think in current events where the woman wasn't even licensed. She frauded millions of dollars
