Hello,
I just moved to Birmingham, and I now live at Liberty Park, Vestavia Hills with my husband.
He just got out of the Military, and we are a young couple, 20 and 22.
We are looking into moving to the southside area.
We want to be more around people our age, and have some more fun.
We were looking into moving to Bistrol, southside.
We really liked the area, and the apartments are very nice.
The only thing is that they only sell, for us to rent them we would need to find a person that has one and would like to sell.
If anyone knows of an apartment for rent at Bistrol southside with at lease 2BR please let me know asap.

Thanks,
Claudia

Try Barber apartments...they are a company (same folks as Barber racetrack) that own a lot of apartment buildings, including quite a few on Southside...good luck!

Lots of great places. Personally, if I were you two, I would consider looking along Highland Avenue between the Red Mountain Expressway and Clairmont Avenue. There you'll find three terrific public parks with lots of people, and still be close to all the entertainment districts.

lots of people
Let's clarify:

Lots of residents inside edifices (read: apartments and condos), perhaps.

Not lots of pedestrians, not lots of people hanging out in the parks, not lots people meeting and greeting, out and about. I have numerous photographs of three empty parks on sunny weekend days I would gladly share with you.

Oh yes, there is the occasional guy hustling to his car parked on the street, the fleeting wisp of a woman doing the "don't rape me shuffle" from point A to B, and the late afternoon dog walker. Actually, when in fact you do see a person (on the outside of the shell of a car or truck whizzing by), it is usually with dog by his/her side.

I can't wait to move outta this lame 'hood.

Maybe people just leave the park when you show up.

SP, if you actually had any wherewithal, you would have left by now. But being a whiny trust fund child who can't succeed on your own, you don't have the guts to do it. Instead, you just come online with these tantrums of yours, not realizing what a child you seem to be. My wife and I lived on Southside for several years, and had all kinds of good experiences just meeting people out of the blue.

Here's the thing you don't seem to get, my bitter little friend. I've lived in any number of cities. Chicago. San Diego. Portland. All great places. In every one of those cities, there are a couple of guys like you who just complain about where they live. What they never get is that they would complain no matter where they lived. So good luck to you.
