Another massive project just completely devoid of actual details.
It's ugly enough that it might actually be built (hope you weren't the designer).

ha! sadly, i think the tallest thing i've ever designed is 3 stories. i've worked on a couple of 10-11 story projects, though, mostly at UAB.

"... A $600 million Dale Earnhardt race track and entertainment complex will be built on 2,500 acres in the Prichard-Saraland area just north of Mobile, the track's investors announced Friday after ruling out two sites in south Baldwin County.

It could take about two years to build the four-track motorsports park off Alabama 158, near Interstate 65, with a full season of activity expected in 2010, track spokesman Bill Futterer of Raleigh, N.C., said. The chosen site faces the University of Mobile campus.

A 5,000-space RV park, a theme park and a 7,000-seat arena also are planned, along with hotels, retail, restaurants and music theaters. The site, while near the busy north-south I-65, also would benefit from its proximity to the east-west Interstate 10 on Mobile's southern edge
."

Uh, that area that was supposed to be the Oasis has construction equipment on it and the land has been recently cleared. I don't know if it's Crunkleton or somebody else, but there looks to be something being prepared to be built in that space. That area has been built into more of an industrial area, I don't know how what they planned would fit now, but a hotel or two wouldn't hurt.

Probably another warehouse. They seem to be ubiquitous around here.

Exactly where is the Oasis area? I was never sure where it was.

"The Oasis will be located off Exit 3 on I-565 at the southwest corner of the expressway and Swancott Road, according to the announcement. The development would be on piece of land annexed by the city of Huntsville in Limestone County."

So i guess sort of across I-565 from the Harley Davidson?

Yeah, sounds like it. I think that's the Greenbrier exit. In the SE quadrant is a Lockheed facility, as well as a pretty large FedEx Ground distribution center. I haven't been out that way lately but sounds like something is being built in the SW "Oasis" quadrant. Probably apartments, based on other construction happening around here.

Believe that’s GE Aviation not Lockheed.

Yes, you're right. They make "unique materials", which could be just about anything. Sounds exotic. https://www.madeinalabama.com/2018/0...que-materials/
