Well, skies are indeed blue(er) in Alabama. It struck me when I first visited in Nov'03 - cold, crisp air and very blue skies - "very low to the ground" I thought driving west on 565, blue all around due to the open spaces (the fields at Intergraph, airport)

I think I first heard it when I was 12 (in Adelaide, very very far south!) and didnt know what the heck they were going on about. It's now a fave of mine. (better late than never)
