130 apartments? In Amsterdam? The city steadily loses a bit of population each year. Montgomery County population has been stagnant for decades. I'm assuming these "lofts" would be rather high end and out of just about anyone's budget who would want to live in Amsterdam.
Don't get me wrong, Southside is nice, but I don't think lack of housing is the problem.

Yes and I was wondering what the going rate for these apartments would be.
I'm also wondering who they would be marketed towards? Maybe higher end Beech-Nut and Target distribution employees, younger teachers/administrators in the area schools, select staff/faculty at FMCC?

Yeah but it's so cheap to buy a house in that area as is. Who is going to pay likely high-ish rent for a loft when they can own a whole house?
I think developers are losing their minds a bit lol.
So they are shooting for $800 for one beds and $1,000 for two beds. That seems pretty reasonable given the initial renderings and specs.
Might actually make local landlords start to give a damn about their properties since they'll have decent competition now. I know people paying $1,100 for outdated 3 bedroom apartments near the McDonald's on Market Street.
