I am curious about living in the Clifton Park/Halfmoon area and would love to hear some opinions. It seems to be an area that has a lot but is also close enough to other areas which have whatever it might be missing. We are originally from the Mid Hudson Valley but I shop frequently in the Albany-North Greenbush area. Are Saratoga county taxes any higher than anywhere else? Is Clifton Park on the "snooty" side at all?
Schools don't come into play as we are retired. I like the proximity to Albany/Colonie/Latham for shopping and also being close to the Adirondack region and Vermont. Our general area in the Mid Hudson is changing, and it's not for the better. Right now we live in a town which caters to a college and tourist crowd. There is nothing senior-oriented at all. Would also like to know if there are any animal shelters in the CP area to volunteer at? Looking forward to hearing what it's like to live around there, thanks!

I believe Clifton Park-Halfmoon is more family oriented, as both are completely/largely served by the good Shenendehowa SD. They are growing towns and some of that could be due to the proximity to Global Foundries in Malta.

There looks to be an animal shelter in nearby Ballston Spa, which is the county seat. https://www.saratogacountyanimalshelter.com/

Clifton Park more upper middle class, as the town's median household income is/was $108,116 according to US Census 5 year information. Halfmoon was $87,169 during that same period.

Hopefully, others will chime in with more specific information.

I believe that Malta and the Ballston Lake areas of Saratoga County have seen some newer construction as well.

I’m sure there is some in other area towns here and there.
