Hello, I would like to do a survey on a good name for a football team based in Albuquerque, New Mexico, with two questions:

a) Of the following names, which would you vote: Drillers, Outlaws, Bulls or Monarchs?
b) What name would you suggest?

Thank you. Greetings.

You could call them Lobos because no other football team is using it.

Outlaws. But I second the Roadrunners.

How about something a little different and very New Mexican - the Turquoise.

Is this for an actual team or is it for fantasy/entertainment/fictional purposes?

The Turquoise sounds great to me! The New Mexico Turquoise

The proud Dukes name could also do for a comeback - The Albuquerque Dukes

Of your names in the OP only the Outlaws appeals to me. Drillers would make sense for a team in southeastern New Mexico, not Albuquerque.

Roadrunners is good, but Albuquerque already has a football team called the New Mexico Runners.

The Duke City Gladiators is our other existing football team. Both of them are in indoor leagues.

I like that the Gladiators used Duke City in their name, the city's official nickname.

Something unique and interesting like that might be to use Burque or 505 instead of the formal city and state names.

e.g., The Burque Bulldogs or the 505 Roughnecks

A few more:

The Dukes of Burque

Burque Bad (like Breaking Bad)

Burque Bad Boys

Burque Outlaws

Burque Brutes

Burque Brews (for microbreweries)

Burque Brewers

Burque Stingers (scorpions or bees)

505 Rattlers

505 Snakes

505 Tarantulas

505 Roadrunners

505 Wolves

505 Greywolves

505 Black Bears (our state animal)

505 Osos

New Mexico Osos

New Mexico Osos Negros

New Mexico Greywolves (the English version of Lobos)

505 Owls
