My allergist recommended both the Prednisone & the Neil-Rinse with warm water with 6 drops of baby shampoo added. I do that almost daily with good results. The prednisone is used only with a severe attack.

I recommend caution here with Prednisone, it can have horrible side effects. It made me extremely ill for 5 days after I had taken it with almost every negative side effect that it is described as having. I now consider myself allergic to it.

You can also become immune to this drug if you take it too often.

I ended up going to my allergist this week and we agreed to take me off all the medications as I haven't noticed any improvement. I am beginning to think that the underlying issue is my TMJ, which can cause fullness in the face. I have an appointment with a TMJ specialist in a few weeks....

OP could you have mold in your house? I had horrid allergies when I lived near the river. Nothing I tried worked. I moved out of the house, and have been 100% better. My gut tells me there was mold in the old house.

Wouldn't I have to test positive to mold during my allergy testing? I thought about that too but I'm only allergic to dust and pets.

Nasal rinse. Never believed in it but decided to di it faithfully twice a day for 10 days. It was magic. I have a nasa spray my allergist gave as a a backup. Have never used it since. Also no zyrtech. When I feel the scratchy throat and runny nose come on I do a nasal rinse and am good to go. The meds the doctor put me on made me dizzy, I was losing balance. It was also $87 for 90 day supply. It is deductible but that is rediculous. I add bake nag soda and salt in plain water to rinse. That is it.

Omg I think I am dying, joking, but this pollen us terrible. It has sidelined me for 2 day's from running/working out.

Neck hurts, lost my voice a little bit, sore throay, seeing sots, dizzy, mouth breathing, chest hurts, runny nose, 24/7 headache, face feels like a submarine deep under see, ears hurt or pop or feel like water or all three, eyes are red and tearing, I am tired, and so forth.

I been taking Allegra D, Sudafed 24, 2 Advil, and Mucinex in the morning.

Tea, Honey, and Cough Drops during the day.

Sit in the bathroom with a hot shower running to clear sinuses up.

Alka Seltzer Cold/Congested Night time with Benadryl, Mucinex, and 2 Advil at night.

Thinking of adding Flonase to the regimen in the morning.

This is AWFUL!!!#!#!!!!!!!#!

What I do for years in April/May (I live in Midwest):
1. NazalChrom/Chromolene for nose, twice a day;
2. Any allergy eyedrops for eyes, as needed;
3. Zyrtec capsule in the morning.
Then it becomes bearable...
Although I will try alkaline diet and grapeseed oil as well.

Maple47..you say grape seed oil. I've been talking about grape seed extract capsules or tablets. Not oil. I don't use the oil but do use coconut oil for everything.
