Edited to add that I see the sheepskin slippers are now available only in size 5. If you can find them elsewhere on the internet, it'd be worth your while. There's very little heel cover so they dont interfere with the motion of the machine. And they provide a lot of cushioning.
YES, and I LOVE my CHI machine! I bought mine almost two years ago, and I've used it almost daily since then, often times two or three times a day for about 15 minutes. At the time, I was having alot of pain from a pinched nerve in my brachial plexus ( shoulder blade area ) that lead me to the CHI machine. Chiropractic adjustments were providing some temporary pain relief, but the pain persisited. My chiro wanted me to do a program of 56 adjustments ( @ $45 each...OUCH! ). Immediately, I heard a little voice inside my head telling me...there's got to be a better way.
So I googled something like, alternatives to chiropractic care. I generally disregard the ads that come back on the first page or two and go to pages three and later to find something closer to my actual needs. I clicked on a link to a Naturopath in Brooklyn who mentioned the CHI Machine. After reading it, I knew in my gut that this was exactly what I was looking for, and straightaway went and ordered this almost $500 device ( Now that is strange behaviour for me. I habitually research and research my way out of most considered purchases via the internet, especially the more costly ones ). I wanted it ASAP so also I paid boocoo bucks for a quick shipping.
Still in a state of intense pain, I got on it shortly after I got it out of the shipping container. I did a short 10 minute session on that thing, and by golly....the pain was gone when I got off it. That got my attention! As a precaution, for the next month I did three to five 15 minute sessions every day. The pain never came back. This was $500 well spent. I highly recommend the CHI machine.

CW: With your more expensive machine, are there any issues with heel or ankle discomfort or is the heel/ankle holder padded enough not to make this an issue?
I bought some big slippers that go over the ankle and it is much better, but I still need to get the lambs wool . . .

There is no padding on the device! Initially it was uncomfortable on the ankles, but early on, I started using a piece of foam padding covered by a towel, and it has been a non-issue since then.
imcurious, I read the following when I was researching various chi machines: "It should be noted, however that, even the $500.00 Sun Harmony Chi Machine has no built in padding"
However, I googled PADDING FOR CHI MACHINE and found something in which you might be interested.
Scroll down the page in the below link and see
"Chi Machine Footrest Cover".
As I recall, there was something in the booklet that made me realize I shouldnt lie on anything but the floor or carpet.
The instructions that came with my Jaclean USJ-106 Chi Vitalizer states . . "Place the unit on a hard, flat surface, such as the floor or a mattress". Everyone will have to make their own determination, but so far it has worked very well placed on a mattress board with the controller set to a mid-range speed.
This is an older post but very informative. I have the 'original' Sun Ancon Chi Machine. I would like to add that this picture above does not reflect the proper use of the Sun Ancon machine (it may reflect proper alignment for the manufacturer shown). The Sun Ancon chi macine needs to be used with the handle facing OUT, not towards your body.
Personal experience only: I have found this machine to help lower my blood sugar (similar to after a long walk but only after about 8 minutes on this machine)....relieved/improved broncial congestion when I've been sick, and most recently, helps tight shoulder/back muscles to relax. I also have no ankle discomfort and I just use the ankle padding that came with the machine. I think when I have experienced discomfort, I was not lined up straight, and it was easy to correct.
I have had it for years, and rarely used it, but I am making an effort to use it every day now (especially through this winter). So far, so good.
Hope this was beneficial to someone out there!

And when you click on the "research" section, it has a paragraph saying that some doctor in Australia chose to research the original ChiMachine. And you can click the "more" button to see the results of the research. And - you get a 404 error: page not found. In fact, if you click on ANY of the sub-links from that research page, you get a "page not found" error. I guess the Australian organization that they claim did the research - either intentionally pulled out of it, or went out of business. That right there is testimony enough of the "power" of the Chi Machine. It drives researchers away!
