=8^D - Sierra Vista - I am SO tired of big city BS and all the traveling. Moved all over the country because of my career choice. I'm done.
I left my heart in small town southern Arizona. I've tried to settle down, but then my work up-roots me. Now that I'm older wiser and looking for a place I can semi retire, SV area was a choice. Just big enough to make a living yet, small enough to keep life simple. I love the desert. And, the people.

I'm a simple man. Simple lifestyle and just love to sit back, play music, laugh and enjoy a BBQ with friends. Will I find that in SV? I think so. Spent a little time there. Felt at home. Am I missing something? Can anyone give me some insight? Bisbee has a good vibe but I can't find work there. Give me a voice. Any body renting a crash pad? I am a highly skilled I.T. professional. Will barter for...?

If you work in IT, can you get a remote job or see if the local ISP is hiring for techs?

I took my wife and daughter to Phoenix/Scottsdale in summer 2019. It was their second trip to the US (wife is Chinese, daughter is mixed but lived in China her whole life thus far). They both loved it... we are headed back to the US this month and after we spend a couple months with my family on the East Coast, will likely move to Phoenix. We all loved it and had a great time; friendly people, good speed of life, access to all the big city amenities we needed but doesn't have the big city mentality of other major US cities.

The only employer I can think of in Sierra Vista is Fort Huachuca. Do you have a clearance? It can be very tough to get a job that'll sponsor you for one. I would start looking at jobs there, find employers and recruiters, and start talking to them about how to make that happen.

I know somebody who lives in Sierra Vista. He says it is mostly retired military and military support, most other jobs support the base. However, I would imagine that anyone in IT could potentially work anywhere from home.
