I live in Florida (almost moved to Arizona) and noticed a lot of senior CD members take the time to answer on the Phoenix site. Florida like Arizona have their casinos owned by the Indian Tribes. Here in Florida the Seminole Tampa Casino we go to is huge. Florida does not have the sprawling land reservations like in Arizona. I hear a lot about poverty on reservations (Tv shows like Dark Winds & Longmire depict the poverty)and I have always wondered how much the Tribes that own casinos and make millions in profit actually help the reservations. Not just giving employment to work at the casino but things needed on the reservations like medical centers .housing etc. I do not wish to assume they do not help a lot so anyone who has first hand knowledge on this subject please kindly respond. Thanks

I guess when they state the (12 percent is distributed by the tribe to the cities, towns and counties of their choosing for community services and public safety programs for local governments) means some may go to the reservations but no clear answer from their flow chart.

Their link that states ( You can view more ADG Reports including the current Tribal Contributions, Status of Tribal Gaming in Arizona, and Annual Reports for Tribal Contributions here.) does not really tell much more.
hmmmmmmm

They're getting shafted as they have been forever. The little man/woman on the totem pole gets little or nothing. Very few improvements have been made, some tribes have received nothing in aid or improvements.
In the AZ republic newspaper today there's a story about one tribe now is going to get a grocery store and a few other amenities after years and years waiting. Typical situation for many tribes.

I hate thinking negatively but I had a feeling their own people on the Rez may not be getting their due. I read the article and they should be ashamed it took this long to get that store. (GREED) I just never hear people bringing up the subject but it is something that's been on my mind for years when I go to Tampa Seminole Casino. I have to with hold my real remarks. Thanks for replying everyone.

I'd heard - unofficially, but from a very smart friend, that the problem is that the leaders get the money, and it's not fairly distributed.

I used to be a vendor that sold stuff to a few of the tribes around the Phoenix area. Go to one of my ex-customers and it's like driving around a third world country despite being literally next door to Scottsdale. The other one is a very small tribal nation and was actually the first tribe to introduce gaming in the country. From what I recall they spread the wealth to their tribal members pretty well. Everyone got a big payment when they turned 18, then large monthly distributions from the casinos every month.

They had a near monopoly, when tribal gaming was first introduced. Now, there is better gaming on my smart phone. The profits aren't there. Only e of the tribes in Minnesota were paying its 300 members 800k per month in 2003 or so...now, that number may be zero..they also got crushed by COVID.
