Humans are humans and we all share some common traits regardless from where we come from. The only thing that makes us different is culture. In Asia, as well as any other country in the world, their culture is different from ours, so yes they are different from our perspective just as we are to them.
As for technology assisting in making Asian teenagers similar to American teenagers, it'll probably bring the two groups closer in terms of having similar interests and talking about viral videos on youtube etc. But as long as their culture plays an active role in their daily lives they'll never be the same.
Asia's a big place. What part of Asia would we be comparing? SE Asia? China/Taiwan/Japan? North Asia (Russia)? Afghanistan? India? Answers will vary. And what aspects of teen life are we comparing? Social life/romance? Use of technology only? Relationships with parents? Schooling?
Asian teenagers are interested just as much as American teens in technology and are connected to their cellphones the same way. On the other hand, Asian teenagers are much more respectful of their elders and more family-oriented than American teenagers.
Westerners are still less conservative than young people in Asia.
