There's a genetic study showing how there was a wave of Austroasiatics from Vietnam which once immigrated to the Philippine before Austronesians came in, mixed with them and slowly displaced and replaced the Austroasiatics.

From this paper...

Multiple migrations to the Philippines during the last 50,000 years

The 2nd Migration Wave (Part B in the picture) were Austroasiatics from Mainland Southeast Asia, before Austronesians (Cordillerans) supplanted them.

Afterwards there was Austronesian/Philippine colonizing of Vietnam. Jade imported from Taiwan, sculpted in the Philippines, ended up in the markets of Hanoi.

Certainly the Sa Huynh Culture, the predecessors of the Champa Civilization in Central Vietnam were descended from Austronesian Borneans and Filipinos settling into Vietnam taking with them their green Jade from Taiwan.

South Vietnam is Austronesian Clay

Cham man come home, come home to Papa Philippines.

All of Southeast Asian is from one lineage but there is a sub group that distinguishes them from coming from another mixture. say always not the same between Cambodian and Thais or Indonesians and Malays or Filipino and Indonesians the most diverse among the people from above are Indonesians. The western part is completely dna typical of Mainland Se Asian while Central Indonesia blends mainland Se Asian and Austonesian while the Eastren Indonesian is Austonesian and Melanesian.
23andme's research also maps exactly to several studies from the past and even the present in general both language, culture and so on

these Family Tree sub group in Southeast Asia
Indonesians genetic are closest to Cambodian - thai - Malays- - Filipinos

here Genetic Indonesian

we can see Karafet Grafic Genetic how people in Western Indonesia such as Sundanese, Javanese, Dayak, Bidayuh,Batak & Malays have genes that are at least similar to the genes of Mainland Se. Asian . interestingly some of the Central part of Indonesia has Austroasiatic/Austronesian/Melanesian while the Easternmost Indonesian is a mixture of Austronesian/Melanesian and is almost Polynesian-like and interestingly Polynesians almost completely has Austronesian genes with little Melanesian compared to Eastern Indonesians
