My fiance and I are packing up our bags and moving to Atlanta Georgia for a new start on our lives. We like to go out (bowling, swimming, movies) so we have to be close to restaurants and shopping malls. What we don't want is a ghetto and unclean area. We do like a little noise from time to time but we also like to relax. We're moving from Dublin, OH so we want to feel safe. We still want to be out in the city, but just a suburban area. We do not have the money to buy a house right now but renting is an option (clean and safe neighborhood). Most likely I'll be working in Norcross GA, some city with a KinderCare because that's my current job at the moment.

What I have realized living in atlanta - You need to live close to where you work. I was in a similar boat that you were in back in 2006. We wanted to go to an area to start a family - We chose east cobb because of the schools from K through 12. However, we both work downtown and so the commute is killing us. Fast forward 4 years - we have a 3 yr old and usually we pick her up from the goddard school at aroun 6 every day and we are too tired to really have quality time because of being in a car. Again, just giving you my perspective.

Someone please help me and give me advice on the nice parts of Atlanta.. I don't want to have to worry about serious situations, such like robberies all the time, raping, and shooting. Plus we'll be starting a family soon!

Possibly Duluth or Suwanee--it would be helpful to know a price range.
