My car got infested with them when I parked in the west economy lot at the airport for a week last year. They seemed to like the leaves that got stuck in the lip of the trunk. They ignored the random bits of food under my seat...lol.

That was a horrible hour or so as I dealt with the problem.

Right, the ones that invade your house are sugar ants and don't bite. Fire ants bite and can be a problem but outside only.
And to clarify, the HUGE cockroaches are actually palmetto bugs and live outside. Occasionally one will wander in your house, but they are not what infests houses. Those types of cockroaches are smaller. Ugh my skin is crawling just thinking about it.
