ATLANTA, June 28, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- Delta Air Lines (DAL) will begin renovations funded by a $6.3 million grant from The Delta Air Lines Foundation and will kick-off a corporate sponsorship campaign to refurbish Delta's historic hangars on the company's corporate campus. Upon completion of the project, the facility will open to the public as the Delta Flight Museum offering daily tours and a unique private event facility..."

This is phenomenal. Considering that they already have the planes, the building and the land, this is a really major investment by Delta.

I can't wait to visit.

Had a chance to tour the Delta Museum as part of a private event. Spoke with several of the employees there that are retired from their long time Delta positions. They are treasures! Absolutely fantastic experience on all levels. If you haven't been to the museum you should consider going. I will definitely be taking my out of town guests.

I took my 98 year old mom there a few years ago. She was a stewardess with Northwest Orient back the 40's and 50's. She flew on the DC-3 which is the plane they have on display.


Only wish I could have taken her earlier in life because she could not navigate to actually take the tour on board the actual plane.


It is very low key but definitely worth the trip. I have traveled for work for many years and my BIL is a Delta Pilot so if you get a kick out of reminiscing it is fun. Just last week I was talking about the days when I regularly flew on the L1011 and the Delta Flight Attendant did not have a clue what I was talking about.
