Hi. My family of four, including a four-year old and an 20-month old, is going to be in Austin to check it out as a possible relocation spot.

Specifically, we are thinking about Barton Creek for the Eanes School District.

Would anyone have a recommendation for places to stay/visit to give us a flavor of the area?

If it matters any, we are coming from Greenwich CT so if any former New-Englanders have any advice that you think would specifically appeal to us, that would be great, too.

We want to keep things pretty family oriented (i.e. no live music, art gallery, college-centric activities, etc.)

Thank you!

You should definitely visit some schools. Maybe go out to lake travis and rent a boat or go to one of the parks on the lake - have a picnic.

Rent a paddleboat or a canoe on town lake (ladybird lake)

Go to zilker park and ride the train, go to the playground.

There are places to eat that have playgrounds like freddies on south lamar that mix live music, playgrounds and eating outdoors.

If you have a dog checkout red bud isle which is a leash free park.
