If they did know and didn't talk about it, I agree but not everyone knows that Bob did what your DH did. It is not always as easy as they know what happened. It is sad some people are forgotten by those but sadly it is a part of life that is either because either one did something or perhaps they lost touch which seems to be a factor in this one. I am not saying it is right at all, it is just something you need to think about.

I still believe this is the correct stance. They may not realize the dire straits because both sides neglected to keep in contact. Lord knows this has happened with boy scouts since my family moved out to Arizona besides a few close friends (one lived around the corner from us so we were friends from scouting but became REAL friends.)

I wish this was the case but we have kept in contact...sigh...close contact until my husband was diagnosed with the ALS...some people just do not know how to deal with things like this I suppose. No matter...thank you for a nice thoughtful way of thinking--you are obviously a good caring friend! Stay that way!
