She's the first woman to win a major American racing series race. She won the Japan 300 over at Twin Ring Motegi. The media is going to eat this up. Definitely good news for IndyCar.

I haven't kept up but I thought the IRL/Champ Car divide was over and they were racing on Long Beach today?

How does the Japan race fit in?

Both Motegi and Long Beach count for points torwards the championship. The Long Beach race will be the last Champcar race. After that, the series will be truely unified.

Thanks, I hope it will develop into a competitive, well attended series. I'll certainly welcome a NASCAR alternative in the US.

Most of them did not. None of the regular IRL drivers drove at Long Beach. Now it's officially 1 series called IndyCar.
