I can live with lease payments if they are under $250 a month. That's almost lunch money that you can carry indefinitely. So what that you never get to "own" the car. Step in the upscale models and you are talking $500+ a month. Now that hurts.

how much is always relative. I have a good buddy that leased a Ranger Rover SS demo car for $1300 a month. Same goes for my neighbor who leased a Benz SL550. Good thing both of those guys leased it because it ended up in the shop a bit too much.

Higher priced cars = higher payments. It's simple math. If you want a $60,000 car, it's going to cost more than $250 a month.
