In 1999 I bought a 200 dollar 1985 Volvo for $1,500 . man what a mess, but I got iot all fixed and that woman needed that money. It sure wasn't the best deal i ever got, but considering I drive it right now, and so far as i can tell, and I can tell it is still the orginal engine, clutch !!!! and tranny.

I have done a lot of other work, but for me this is cake. With the for crap cars made today, I hope I can find parts for this till the day I die.

It gets apx 26 MPG's, has turbo, CIS injection and I can get varsol to blow out the injectors still.

Last fall I ran a mouse nest around the timing belt and broke it. No big deal since the B 21 Ft isn't a crash engine. A couple hours and 30 bucks got it running again.

I guess maybe I should find new side mirror glass as they are fading.

What i really want is a nice clean 1966 122 Amazon Volvo. If i could find a rust free one of those mostly complete some where, that would be very cool.

In 05 I found a rust free van in Arkansas, and I bought it for 1,600. An old 86 3/4 2500 model made as a conversion van. The odometer said 15,500. I took that to mean 115,500, and was I ever WRONG! Right now it has 29,+00, hardley broken in, err well that bunk is, but the engine sure isn't and in NH no rust is a very big deal.

The best deal I ever tripped over was a long time ago, maybe in 1977-79ish.

The car was an Alfa Romeo 1500cc's and a Spider model. It was canarry yellow with a white convertable top. That car was a chick killing beast too. It wasn't that fast, but man could it corner.

I found it in a barn all covered in dirt. The owner said the engine was blown, and I bought it to put another engine in for 25 bucks. I dragged that car away, and cleaned it, then checked the engine which turned over fine, once the battery was replaced.

I began to check fuses and wiring since it had no power to the points, and found a in line fuse to the coil blown... I replaced that fuse and the engine started right up nice.

25 bucks for the car, 25 bucks for a battery, and 25 cents for a fuse... I wish that would happen again.

In January 2008, I Bought a 1998 Ford Escort for $2800 ! And it only had 26,000 miles on it. It started to have some problems a few months ago and repairs cost me around $700 .
