Some years back there were very large white aircraft in and out of Charleston SC Air Force Base. Turned out they were Russian transport planes hired by the US Air Force thru a US company in Dallas to haul military supplies to Afghanistan/Iraq. They were said to be able to carry 1/3 more then any US Air Force plane thus more economical for the US Air Force to hire them.
They were all Russian crews and ground support. They operated out of a corner of the base and stayed very much to themselves.
Evergreen Airlines, a cargo flyer based in McMineville Oregon had a number of 747-200's that were all white and no markings except the tail numbers. These were flying to US air bases overseas as adjunct cargo carriers to the Air Force right after 911. Evergreen was the company that gained some unwanted attention by supporting CIA work and flying the Shah of Iran out of harms way, also rescuing the Marcos family from the angry mobs, and taking Noriega to the US for trial.

Late 70s, my ground school instructor had a Mooney, he took another student and me to Marana (now Pinal Air Park) near Tucson. Lots of Evergreen activity then, as well as two PSA L-1011s mothballed only a few months after entering service. A few months later I landed there as a new private pilot in a C172 and as we were walking into the hangar we were promptly ushered away with instructions to be airborne in five minutes.
Here's one of my favorite large, all-white, aircraft.
Reminds me of another, the Airlander. Can't quite place my finger on it, but it looks...appealing. I find myself drawn to it for some unknown reason...
I see these white 747 cargo planes two to three times a week taking off from Anchorage, taking off at 9:40 am local time regularly and heading east bound and also at ~1-2 pm, and heading westbound. Today I finally got close enough to read the very small tail number on one: N407KZ.
Thanks for all the replies folks. Yes I am in GJ. I don't live or work within actual view of the airport but I can see planes on approach (or departure) from my workplace sometimes. There are often small military aircraft flying through (very loud) and I've seen other large gov't/military cargo planes fly through the valley. (C-14?)
Possibly the pilot diverted due to weather. When I was living in Denver, and coming back on a flight from Palm Springs, we diverted to Grand Junction due the massive thunderstorms around Denver. We sat there for a few hours, then resumed the flight.
