What would you all think about doing a city data gathering at the Bangor Airport, greeting returning troops?

You could get in touch with one of the "Troop" Greeters and I'm sure they would put you on the telephone tree. Sometimes there is not a long time ahead to know about it. Did you see "The Way We Get By" ? It was on Public TV a couple of times recently.

RHB, I would love to be a part of this. I'm a good hour and a half drive from Bangor, and I have a weird work/sleep schedule. From what Newdaawn suggests, there may not be much advance notice. I don't have a TV in my life regularly, and haven't had the opportunity to see the segment on "Troop Greeters" on MPBN either.But...

There are incoming flights with little notice and some that are known at least a week ahead of time. The plane we greeted yesterday had 256 soldiers, mostly Marines. It was a great experience.

This link would give you a some idea when a flight is coming in. For the Airport code, plug in BGR. Make sure to check the radio button for "Arrivals". For Airline, plug in "World Airways". Make sure the origin of the flight is overseas, probably Leipzig/Halle...don't want to greet one that's leaving empty...Until the flight is actually in the air, I wouldn't base the arrival on this however...but that would give you 6 or 7 hours notice.
