there runs allowed are in line with many of the other years but the runs scored are way off. they are hitting 222/645 as a team right now.

Using April 31st as an arbitrary endpoint
Through that date the Red Sox hit:
.243/.331/.380. That's a .320 wOBA which was good for a 99 wRC+ (Remember wRC+ stands for "weighted Runs Created adjusted for park and league. 100=average. Below 100 = worse than average). The Red Sox offense was average through April.
Thus far in May the Sox have hit:
.280/.345/.441. That's a .350 wOBA and 120 WRC+. The best wRC+ in baseball during that time.
As of now the Red Sox have won 52% of their games. Historically (from 1998 on at least) teams winning 52% of their games through the end of March have won anywhere between about 65 and 110 games.

I'm not the worrying type, I'll be keeping a running total all year.
I posted it for discussion purposes.
you don't find it interesting to see where former Sox teams were at the 1/4 poll of there seasons?

Well we all know what happens by the end of the year, it evens out.
That does seem to happen a lot, doesn't it? But, Lance, let's face it: your Pinstripers are looking suspiciously human this year. One bad stretch, and the possibility exists that they could even fall below the .500 mark.

As you saw today and the last few years, both teams get into those win and loss streaks. It seams to come down to the last 2 months most years. We have a few injuries so staying on top or near it makes me very happy.

Well there's always a first time for everything.
