Everyone in the National League Central Division lost games on Tuesday.

Sadly, the Cardinals' pathetic play recently, carried over from last season, has not improved.

The Brewers have played better than the Cubs and the Cardinals. If the Cardinals had a better bullpen and had batters hitting balls with bats for base hits, they could be winning more games and be leading the National League Central Division.

A tight National League Central Division race between the Brewers, Cubs, and Cardinals should make trades necessary by the trade deadline. The Cardinals need to upgrade their bullpen with pitchers pitching ball, and add a batter to the batting lineup to hit balls with bats for base hits and runs.

Still, though, a lot of baseball is left to be played. It's possible that St Louis is just hitting a funk. I seriously don't believe Chicago will win the division this year, so the Cards can get back in this. The race is not close at all and it's become anyone's division at this point.

A funk should not last more than two seasons.
