Not in any way the same thing. Lebron bailed on Cleveland when he "took his talents to South Beach" so he could win a title with an All Star roster. (Karma won in 2011 though)

Favre retired... GB promoted Rodgers to starting QB... Favre changed his mind but GB had moved on. So they traded him to the AFC rather than giving him a release. After a year he signed with MN because he wanted to stick it to the Packers.

I 100% agree.

Lebron got some soft passes to the finals with teams that he carried there in a soft east.

Nobody should CREDIT him for reaching the finals or DEBIT him for not winning when he got there.

Said it here in other posts, if he'd been in the west he would have just quietly lost in the WCF or earlier and his win % would be higher.

I don't really quite understand this anti east bias. Based on what? Seems like just popular opinion. These are professional basketball teams for God's sake.

Golden state warriors have lost 5 times. Cleveland has lost twice, to a Toronto team that apparently doesn't count. They had a great year.

Seems like just because the Cavs win big and don't go down 3-1 like the mediocre Warriors.

Well the competition is typically tougher in the west. In the east, there's usually a team or two at or below .500 that makes it in. But this year the 5-8 seeds had better records in the east.

That said, GS only had to go through one really good team so far. They didn't have to play the Spurs or even the Clippers. Actually, based on record, Cleveland has played significantly tougher competition, though clearly Oklahoma underachieved in the regular season, and I still can't figure out why Toronto was in the ECF.

You have to consider where someone plays and the overall situation. Kobe played his whole career for the Lakers, which is a top free agent destination, and started out with Shaq. Lebron started in Cleveland with a limited supporting cast. That's a much harder city to attract elite free agents. Judge Lebron for his finals in Miami and this year in Cleveland with a good supporting cast. But just saying Lebron has X number of rings vs Kobe or Jordan is unfair.

Ask any NBA player at the start of their career if they'd take 2-4 in Finals. Ask any former NBA player that never won a championship or played in the finals if they'd take 2-4.

He had not played a good 4quarter up until that 3.

Kobe was awful in game 7 vs. Boston and got bailed out by Artest, but people still remember him as the great MVP of the series. Anyway, without the 3 Lebron hit, they're down 7-8 with even less time left, and Lebron would be 1-3 in the finals at that time instead of 2-2.
