In truth, the Birmingham and Huntsville MSAs are both having a remarkable string of recruitment successes. Hope the trend continues to accelerate.

Probably city offcials are usually "in the know" more than those who are known to complain. I'm not sure what could have been negative about a bid, even if it was not successful.

Actually, the region's proposal for the headquarters is what spurred Amazon to consider the metro for this facility in the first place.

Same reason Huntsville bid, it's all about exposure and getting your city seen by these companies.
Huntsville has a long list of companies that the negative nancy's said we had no chance yet here they are.
Thankfully there are people who have vision that can see beyond mom's basement.

Ah, OK. Just about every town in the country bid for that too. Even Scottsboro did.
