Now July 7-17, 2022. The silver lining? At least this way, we know the stadium will be finished.

let's hope construction schedules for the stadium and arena (and CityWalkBHM, BRT, hotels, etc) aren't affected by the coronavirus.

as of now, it looks like most projects currently under construction have been proceeding.

Anyone know if construction projects in other states with shelter in place orders are still ongoing? We have one for Birmingham, but construction has seemingly been deemed essential.

The other great thing about this is we'll have more time to raise money. Hopefully now they will use Protective Stadium instead of Legion Field!

Yes, construction is ongoing in other states even in the shelter in place orders. Birmingham construction sector should be fine if there aren't any other type of delays then all of those projects should be finished in time.

I wonder if in a weird way if this will help the construction sector out - labor might be easier to find, materials could become cheaper. I guess the big worry would be supply chain issues.

Is COVID-19 saving Bay Area from ‘carmageddon’? Crews speed up big projects with freeways and trains nearly empty:

"Even by the fearsome standards of Highway 101 traffic, this summer was shaping up to be especially miserable. Crews were set to replace a section of the congested freeway through its hulking interchange with Interstate 280 in San Francisco in July, shutting down the northbound lanes, forcing some 240,000 daily commuters onto detours and backing up traffic for miles down the Peninsula.

But with rush-hour congestion practically nonexistent these days and car traffic down as much as 60 percent, Caltrans officials moved the replacement project up to this month in a bid to spare thousands of drivers from a project that had been dubbed the Bay Area’s “carmageddon.”

"Kaiser Permanente, one of Northern California’s largest health care providers, is building a $14 million lab in Berkeley that will boost the system’s coronavirus testing capacity from about 1,200 tests a day to 5,000 by the time the lab opens in early June, Kaiser officials said."

If it's still raging on in 2022, we'll have bigger problems than if we should put on an athletic competition.

Washington (state) stopped construction for a while, but lifted the order two or three weeks ago as long as proper distancing is maintained.

Here's a map as of April 20, and Pennsylvania was the only state to still have no construction allowed. https://www.constructiondive.com/new...the-us/551042/
