If you read any of the posts on the Spokane forum you will see that a bunch of yahoos are complaining about Spokane in the same fashion.

As far as I am concerned, just because we are predominantly white doesn't mean we lack diversity. Does a person's skin have to be of a different color for him to be divergent from oneself. Does this infer that ALL whites obviously think & behave in the same fashion?

It is my not-so-humble opinion that if anyone has a problem with the color or lack thereof of Spokane or Boise, then they don't need to move here. I certainly don't feel that either city lacks culture or intelligent thought and find no reason for either to change.

Before anyone complains that I am being racist, I'm not. Just tired of being treated as a second-class cultural retard for being white...
I think you have a valid point, but I also think those who seek diversity for various reasons do to.

You're speaking from the perspective of someone who enjoys majority status, and is currently living in a place where 9 out of every 10 people look like yourself - at least superficially, on an appearance basis.

There are strong psychological motives for wanting to be in a place where you feel similar to others, even on a superficial basis. It's a reason why most Americans will feel at least a little uncomfortable in a foreign country.

It has nothing to do with racism, per se. There aren't any judgments being made about any of the races. It's more about standing out or fitting in on an outward level.
