Just finished the book and I was satisfied. I was so disappointed by the other "unauthorized" sequel. This book was well-written and researched. It made me feel like a he said/she said version of Gone with the Wind. And it was so great to get more in-depth info on Rhett. He was always one of my favorite characters. If you're a fan of Gone With The Wind, definitely pick up Donald McCaig's book.

I am a HUGE fan of GWTW and am looking forward to reading this book. I have a collection of memorbilia from the movie. I'm glad to hear you enjoyed it.

My Mother attended a release of the movie I believe that was in the 60s and I have the program from it as well as many other cherished items.

Glad to hear the book is good. I just ordered it for my sister to read. She is due to have surgery soon, and is a big GWTW fan -- she fell in love with the character, Rhett Butler, as well as the actor who portrayed him, when she saw the film for the first time as a young teen. So much so, she named one of her sons 'Rhett.' I am hoping Rhett Butler's People will keep her entertained as she recovers. And then, she'll let me borrow it.

I am glad to read positive posts about the book. Thank you! I am a huge GWTW fan and am very anxious to buy the book...I did like Scarlett. It wasn't a bad read but the best part of the book was Rhett and Scarlett getting back together...
