The garage under Boston Common and The Garage at Post Office Square both have weekend rates under $10/day (this is current info).

YES, the Post Office Square Garage is wonderful. It's a flat rate of $9.00 after 4 PM. You can't beat it with a stick. It's clean, safe, well lit at night and quite convenient:

Garage At Post Office Square

The Boston Common Garage got bought by these other people, it's kind of creeping up a little because of the location, yet it's still not a bad deal. Here's their rates:
Weekdays: Enter between 6 AM - 4 PM
Up to 1 hr: $8
Up to 2 hrs: $12
Up to 3 hrs: $16
Up to 10 hrs: $22
24-hour maximum charge: $27

Evening Rate: Enter between 4 PM - 6 AM AND exit by 8 AM
Pay just $11 when you enter the Garage after 4 PM and exit before 8 AM.

Weekend Rate:
Enter after 6 AM on Saturday or Sunday and exit by 8 AM the next morning...$11
Enter after 6 AM Saturday and exit by 8 AM on Monday...$22

Monthly Passes:
Monthly - 24-hour/7 days access monthly pass: $360 per month
Overnight monthly pass (enter the Garage after 4 PM and exit by 10 AM the next business day): $150 per month

For more information and/or to purchase a monthly pass, please call (617) 954-2098.

Actually, smarty, the meters are no longer in effect after six p. m., so if you get to a metered area by or before six p. m., parking spaces come a dime a dozen.

I usually just park at Riverside and take the D line in - $5.75 a day. Right near the Turnpike, so easy access from Worcester way. Do a little reading or whatnot on the train in and out.

I always just avoided the Aquarium garage like the plague. That's always a rip off. Dock Square too. Government Center garage isn't bad.

I used to park at places like Wellington or Quincy Adams for a $7.50 flat rate (daily) regardless of week or weekend and take the T in.

If you are shopping on Newbury Street, in addition to Boston Common, there is a small Garage on Mass Ave run by Patriot Parking at 5 Haviland Street.

They are $10.00 after 5PM and Weekends and only $5.00 hour $17.00 on weekdays.

The best deal for parking in Boston's Chinatown is B&B Parking. I have come up to Boston every summer and I use them. I can't find a better deal for a city that is so expensive to park in. I think I paid $265 last summer for a monthly pass.

If you are parking on a Sunday or a weekday/Saturday after 8, you can generally park for free in the Financial District. I tell people to look around Batterymarch and some of the smaller side streets off of it. There's generally always parking over there. While this doesn't help a 9-5 worker, it's perfect for someone doing dinner/drinks in the city at night or coming into town for the day on Sunday. Worst case, if you don't find anything (I'd be surprised if you didn't), you can go right over to the Post Office Square garage which is in that area. There's really no reason to pay for parking on a Sunday or at night. Even during an event (Sox/Bruins/Celtics game, etc).
