Rent prices have slipped in Boston YOY for the first time since the housing market crisis of 2008. The price correction looks to be short lived, as Boston's student population has been revived in 2021 and rents are back on the upswing.

Wondering what it costs to rent an apartment in Boston? Check out this interactive infographic that breaks down Boston rent prices for all size apartments by neighborhood.

Nice interactive visualization - any kind of GIS style visualization is always so much more helpful than a simple table of values. That should be of interest to anyone looking to move and rent in Boston and its inner burbs.

Studios in Roxbury are more expensive than studios on Beacon Hill or in Back Bay?

probably a smaller sample size, newer construction and/or some other data outlier. Most new 'studios' in Roxbury are modern construction. In the Back Bay, Studios on average are smaller and far older.

I believe more the "smaller sample size" hypothesis. I can't believe anyone willing to pay more to live in Roxbury than on Beacon Hill, even with a 80 years difference on the age of the apartment.

Yea there is a much smaller data sample of studio apartments in Roxbury compared to Back Bay, that inflated the average rent price.
